money tree

i have been pondering the quote
"money can't buy happiness".
my extensive research on the subject
tells me that whoever coined this little gem
had no idea what they were talking about.

every single person i know would be happy
(or a lot happier) if they didn't have to worry about money.
seriously,
it's what most folks complain about.
most problems i know of are due to the lack of funds
people have access to.
so what gives?
i understand that money cannot possibly buy all kinds of happiness
but it would definitely help in most areas of peoples lives...
and buy a lot of it at any rate.

just so i don't sound super negative...
i did recently enjoy a lovely fall day
apple-picking and eating cider doughnuts...
which was rather enjoyable.
money, however, did buy the apples and doughnuts.
