Tuesday

lots of bucks and no bang

whew!
we went house-hunting a little this morning
and boy is it exhausting!
i wish i could say i instantly fell in love with my dream house
but that didn't happen.
i did fall in love with a dreamy house
that was too small,
which is so unfortunate because the views of the mountains
from that backyard could melt your heart!
it was unreal!
our realtor told me not to get too bummed
because the perfect house for us is out there
and he said we would find it.
i hope he is right because the rental we have to stay in for two
months is the opposite of dreamy.
exactly the opposite.
it's an over-priced vacation rental
with no yard,
lots of bugs,
and a damp basement
(which is also where all the bedrooms are located).
what a disappointment.
beggars can't be choosers they say...
and we would be homeless without this place.
i am grateful,
but i also recognize the fact that we are
not getting enough bang for our buck.
it will be like i'm on a vacation in a place i would never
ever vacation in,
and spending more than
i ever would to rent such a place,
whilst not actually getting any of the
awesome vacation benefits.
wait,
the place has cable...
so maybe it's worth it after all.
